LATEST WILLOWS NEWS...

Tree Planting - 23rd March 2014

What a fabulous day we had beginning our 'Willows Wonder Walk'. About one hundred members of our school community came together and spent the day planting 400 trees and creating numerous willow structures for our children to enjoy.

Thank you to EVERYONE who made it all happen!

We have all been deeply saddened by the passing away of our much loved site supervisor Sarah Holland.

Most of us knew Sarah but to the few of you who might not have, she truly loved The Willows and that was returned by staff and pupils alike.  Sarah has worked at at the school for more than 20 years. During this time she worked as a teaching assistant, cook, welfare assistant, cleaner and site supervisor. Next time you're in, have a look at the painting of most of the classroom walls and the beautiful flower beds. That was Sarah in the school holidays going above and beyond. But whatever she did, she wanted it kept low key and shrugged off any thanks. It was about family for her - her own and her school.

Her funeral was held at The Willows on Wednesday 12th March and was a celebration of Sarah's life. All the children wrote prayers, thoughts and memories on leaves which we fastened to the fence.

Please keep Sarah and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

CAFOD Make and Sell 2014

We held our 'Make and Sell' for CAFOD on Friday 21st March. All the classes made something to sell and brought money to buy the fabulous items. The event was opened by our CAFOD group and Panthers class sang for us all. We raised £179.67 which is a fantastic achievement. £49.40 of this was raised by Luke and Sam who made cakes themselves at home and brought them in. Well done everybody!
